KMF PRESENTS THE KEAHOLE YOUTH PROJECT
VISION STATEMENT
To provide a progressive learning environment for the youth of Hawaii Island through utilization of collective intelligence modules. The KMF Institute main objective is to bring about a collective, creative and intellectual renaissance for the minds of Hawai‘i‘s future. By providing immersive, three-dimensional scientific, cultural and educational resources of new and existing paradigm portals that will create a new generation of economic artisans, scholars and scientists.
MISSION STATEMENT
The KMF Institute is a collective lifelong learning experience for co-creating and experiencing scientific and cultural areas of interest through collective intelligence and creativity. The Institute’s over reaching goal is to generate a new framework for scientific and cultural understanding by advancing knowledge- technology transfer by applying Hawaiian principles and concepts.
CHALLENGE:
TRANSFORMING LEARNING FOR THE 21st CENTURY: AN ECONOMIC IMPERATIVE--In this new economic environment—the New Economy—education plays a critical role in maintaining prosperity and stimulating economic growth. The level of workforce skills and the periodic need to update those skills are both rising in the New Economy...Competitive advantage for a region, state, or nation is now built on the skills of its general workforce as opposed to its geography, trade laws, research labs, and patents. Imperative to that competitive advantage are the educational skills that young adults acquire in primary and secondary schools.
PURPOSE
To address the global knowledge dilemma, our scholarships, products, and services are forms of collective intelligence, virtual learning, and edutainment KMF will define, develop, and distribute lifelong learning experiences, transforming experiences into Unified Knowledge. Communities of Practice, Scientific Inquiry, Intellectual Innovation and Economic Empowerment are the touchstones of our quest to inspire Superior Minds for the future.
We plan to develop a wide range of scientific and cultural curricula to offer relevant choices for students to enable and better prepare for mass career customization. Students will be immediately employable in a variety of job areas; and for some, will be prepared to enter college to further develop their skill abilities in a particular field of practice. The Keahole Youth Project is the first step in creating education that is relevant, interesting, and demanding for whole new minds of the future.
These education modules will provide hands-on training in a virtual, collaborative environment. These academies employ stimulating media and technology-based learning techniques that allow the learner to participate in roles that are realistic to those of professionals in “high demand” industries. Students will engage in simulated professional work facilities; collaborate on projects with mentors and peers alike.
The essence of the KEAHOLE YOUTH PROJECT will be reflected in its projects and curriculum. The primary goal is to provide learners with new and relevant educational experiences that leverages new technologies utilizing collective intelligence with specific learning initiatives:
- Encourage collaboration on economic, artistic, and scientific projects that have a local, national, and global impact.
KMF Presents the KEAHOLE YOUTH PROJECT
- Advanced Education modules through collective intelligence, virtual learning, and edutainment experiences using key learning points.
- Convert scholarly research, scientific discoveries, artistic expressions and intellectual properties into licensable and profitable entities.
- Coordinate, cultivate, and harness collective intelligence to reduce research and development efforts and expedite rapid creation of innovative processes.
- Transform embryonic concepts into edutainment experiences through immersive techniques
- Empowering students to contribute to the world’s cultural, social, and economic development in the digital Collective Intelligence realm.
The KEAHOLE YOUTH PROJECT pilot program and collaborative project will design, develop, and deliver creative education modules Science, Technology, Engineering, and Business with lifelong learning opportunities through: Our ultimate goal in doing this work is to impact the present education systems and become a model to reach the widest possible population, as countries world-wide are experiencing similar problems with their education systems. The Internet brings the opportunity to reach vast populations with ease. We intend to make the curricula available to existing schools, new charter schools, home-schooled high- school-age children, and possibly adults wanting to develop new skills for alternative careers.
COURSE STUDIES
KEAHOLE YOUTH PROJECT will provide a critical and much-needed alternative course of study, giving local students the opportunity to:
- Practice working in fields that are personally interesting and motivating to them
- Learn both the academic and soft skills needed in today’s workforce
- Have their assessment based on their performance of relevant skills in meaningful contexts (rather than on how much they memorized at a given point in time)
- Have experts in the fields in which they are studying to serve as their mentors
- Have realistic experiences working as scientists and engineers, learning principles of science and engineering in order to solve problems
- Live in various realistic contexts and with practical “hands-on” experience to focus toward post- graduation goals.
AEROSPACE MODULES AND FACILITIES KEAHOLE YOUTH PROJECT will create a curriculum focused on aerospace that will leverage many local students’ career interest in airplanes and rockets to teach the fundamentals of science, engineering, design, and manufacturing. Through this curriculum we are aim to fill a need in the aerospace industry for qualified graduates. Students will engage in realistic, relevant problems that professionals in aerospace confront. In the process, they will learn the fundamental skills that will lead them to either entry-level position in the field
Customized learning: to help many more students succeed in school Student-centric classrooms will increase the demand for new technology Computers and mobile devices must be disruptively deployed to every student
Disruptive innovation circumventing roadblocks that have prevented other attempts at school reform Learning to compete in the global classroom and get ahead in global markets or to further study to later qualify them for more advanced positions. We are convening a collective of experts in this field to determine the specific projects to be included in the Aerospace module.
AGRICULTURAL MODULES AND FACILITIES BUSINESS MODULES AND FACILITIES HUMANITARIAN MODULES AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE FACILITIES ENERGY MODULES AND GREEN FACILITIES FINANCIAL MODULES AND FACILITIES
HEALTH MODULES AND HEALING FACILITIES SPIRITUAL MODULES AND FACILITIES STEWARDSHIP MODULES AND SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES FUNDING
The Keahole Youth Project is in the process of securing funding from local and foreign investment resources to develop and establish the core components of the Modules and Facilities infrastructure and curriculum content. As an additional funding source, Keahole Youth Project has partnered with Koa Kane LLC
A newly organized charitable organization—to generate 80% of the necessary initial funding and is presently researching government agencies that will commit to fund the remaining 20%.
Upon achieving the necessary initial funding requirements Keahole Youth Project will have an expansive 3D immersive open source of a learning platform that will be perpetually self-sufficient.
The Keahole Youth Project can and will change the way the world learns, through realistic immersive interaction with educational material and global lifelong student project collaboration.
